GROVER LAB

About Us
Advancing Medical Education Through Technology and Discovery
Grover Lab studies how clinicians learn, practice, and perform. We build and evaluate technology that improves training and assessment. Our work integrates medical education, learning science, simulation, and AI to teach, analyze performance and design usable systems to accelerate improvement. The lab’s home is in gastroenterology and endoscopy education, and our methods generalise across health professions.

Lab Head
Dr. Samir C. Grover
MD, MEd, FRCPC, AGAF, FASGE
Dr. Samir C. Grover is the Executive Vice-President, Academics at Scarborough Health Network and the inaugural Pialis Family Chair in Education at the SHN Research Institute (SHNRI). With a background in gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy, Dr. Grover completed a Master of Education at the University of Toronto in 2009. He developed the University of Toronto Endoscopic Simulation course, which has trained over 300 endoscopic worldwide. He is an internationally recognised educator in endoscopy, and leader in research in technology-enhanced procedural education.
